Paris is probably one of the most cliché cities in the world, the romance, picknick by the Eiffel tower, drinking wine and eating baguettes. It’s filled with places you’ve seen in movies and stories you’ve heard about in songs, but even though it’s filled with clichés, it’s still one of the most amazing places you’ll ever visit. Here are 10 cliché things to do in Paris, that you still kinda have to do!
I don’t even like macarons, still, you have to eat at least one when in Paris! A hot tip is to head out to Pierre Hermé and choose one (or two or three or four) of their unique selection of macaron flavours!
Go up the Eiffel tower
Probably one of the most touristy and cliché things you can do in Paris, but still it has to be done! If it’s your first visit to Paris, I bet the Eiffel tower is at the top of your list to see, and even if you’ve been to Paris countless times, it never sees to amaze.
Explore the Louvre
The Louvre is absolutely stunning and you can easily get lost and spend more than a couple of hours here!
Shop at Galeries Lafayette
Ok, so maybe not shopping as much as window shopping. But still. The shopping mall itself is beautiful, with its stunning design and you can even head up to the roof. Here you’ll find plenty of high-end designers, but also some more affordable options such as Urban Outfitters and Zara.
Enjoy some wine
Find a nice bar, a patio, or a beautiful park, and enjoy some good wine. There’s no place in the world where wine tastes as good as in Paris (except maybe Italy…)
Because it’s simple the best thing to do. Always.
Stroll among the Seine Rive
Walking along the Seine is simply a must in Paris. It’s a lovely walk and if you’re lucky with the weather you’re golden!
Climb the stairs of Arc De Triumph
These tight and swirly stairs are always filled with people, but the view makes it all worth it! You can see Sacre-Coeur, the Eiffel Tower and so much of the stunning city from up there, making it worth every step up!
See the view from Sacré Coeur
Probably one of the most beautiful views over Paris. Climb to the very top of Sacré Cœur, preferably in the morning and get that beautiful morning light. Also, atop Notre Dame will give you a magnificent view, and if you’re looking for a view without an admission fee, head to the roof terrace of Printemps.
Drink hot chocolate at Angelina
Angelina is probably one of the most Instagrammed places to eat (or drink) in Paris. Their delicious hot chocolate is like drinking a melted chocolate bar and it’s simply a must when exploring Paris.
